Kiri completed a BFA at Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University. Her jewellery is inspired by the botanic world; small plant details such as leaves, buds and pods. Just as in natural environments where bone, rock, and shell are gradually worn back to elemental forms, Kiri refines structure back to itís simplest form in order to draw out the essential quality within a shape. Spirituality plays a large part in Kiriís practice and she has a special interest in the healing qualities of native New Zealand plants. Her intention is to gift the wearer with a blessing, as much as with a physical piece of art. Kiri grew up in Taranaki and now lives in Auckland exhibiting through out New Zealand, Austraia and the United Kingdom.
